Nvidia's board has opened an independent investigation after reporting that founder and chief executive Jensen Huang was the target of a foreign intelligence effort, the board said in a statement on the company newsroom.
The board said it has set up a committee of independent directors, with outside independent counsel, to oversee the probe.
It said it prioritises U.S. national and economic security and, while it has no reason to believe national security or Nvidia secrets were compromised, the inquiry will examine all available information.
"Jensen fully supports the review and has committed to cooperating with it," the board added, and said it has confidence in Huang and his leadership team and will provide further updates as appropriate.
Jensen Huang is Nvidia's co-founder, president and CEO. He holds Taiwanese and American citizenship, and as of October 2026 Forbes estimated his net worth at more than US$200 billion.
The board's full statement is on Nvidia's newsroom.
