Ocient raises $100m to boost enterprise agentic AI platform
Chicago-based Ocient secured $100 million in Series C funding to accelerate its AI data analytics platform for large-scale enterprise use.

Chicago-based data technology company Ocient has raised $100 million in a Series C funding round, bringing its total capital raised to $260 million. The round was co-led by BOKA Capital and OCA Ventures, with participation from existing investors such as Greycroft, In-Q-Tel, Blue Bear Capital, Buoyant Ventures, PSP Growth, Pritzker Group Venture Capital, and Eron Wolf. Dallas Venture Capital joined as a new investor.
The funding will accelerate the delivery of OcientAIQ Solutions, a platform designed for organisations managing dynamic, petabyte-scale datasets. The platform integrates ingestion, analytics, governance, and orchestration into a single operating layer, enabling enterprises to run AI agents against large-scale data for real-time analytics both in the cloud and on-site.
OcientAIQ targets industries with continuously expanding datasets, including telecommunications, defence, and national security. Its technology allows customers to analyse full-resolution data without sampling, preserving detail and embedding governance controls covering data access, policies, and information lineage. This approach supports reproducible results and reduces unnecessary data movement, potentially lowering costs associated with language model processing.
CEO John Morris founded Ocient to create a unified data and analytics platform that complements existing infrastructure. The company plans to use the new capital to speed product delivery, enhance enterprise AI deployments, and expand commercial and national security operations, including recent formalisation of its India operations and creation of a dedicated national security subsidiary.
Our question is how Ocient plans to ensure that schools and young learners gain access to the skills needed to work with such advanced AI platforms, especially given the complexity of handling petabyte-scale datasets as described. With the company&#x’;s focus on enterprise and national security sectors, we wonder if there will be opportunities to bridge this technology into educational environments to prepare future professionals effectively.
BOKA Capital CEO John James highlighted the importance of reliable data processing amid growing defence demands. Jim Dugan, founding managing partner at OCA Ventures, noted the company's technological advancements and potential to become a dominant platform for data-centric industries as AI adoption increases.
Ocient expects to more than triple its revenue this year, with growth relying on product delivery and customer adoption. The company competes with established data platforms and analytics tools but aims to reduce fragmented workflows through its combined analytics and governance model.
